City Voices Chorus has been busy this summer, singing a lot and having fun.
We are learning new repertoire for our annual holiday luncheon, Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Linda Tiedt, show chair extraordinaire, has come up with a new theme this year, For longtime regular customers and new guests to enjoy. Tickets will be available soon.
We have also been working on quartet-ting. Our director, Jerilee Inghram, and her staff felt quartet ting would be a great way to improve individual vocal skills, and promote independent singing and enhanced performance skills. The chorus was voice-placed into quartets in May. Six quartets, now with names, costumes and a two song repertoire, have been rehearsing over the summer. Chorus members who preferred not to quartet have been working as a small group, also preparing a two-song package to present. Groups were allotted time during regular weekly rehearsals to practice, with coaching offered by the director. All this work culminates in our JFF (Just for Fun)”contest”. Jan Nolte will be running the “pattern”, Jim Inghram is the MC, and a distinguished (?) panel of judges may be announced soon (if anyone accepts the challenge). Anyone interested in attending is welcome to come cheer us on, and there will be refreshments. Details/flyer on our website and Facebook page.
City Voices accepted an invitation to sing the National Anthem on Ladies' Night before the St. Louis Blues hockey game on Saturday November, 4th at 6pm, against the Toronto Maple Leafs!
