Recently retired after teaching vocal music for 31 years, Peggy brings her expertise in choral directing, vocal production and theatre to City Voices Chorus. She began performing in Elementary school with her twin sister, singing on local television and various events around St. Louis. Peggy has sung with the Bach Society and St. Louis Symphony choruses, and has held offices in the St. Louis Music Educators Association and the Orff Schulwerk Society of St. Louis.

In 2002, her Oakville choir was chosen as the “Best Middle School Choir” in Missouri and performed at the Missouri Music Educators Annual Convention. Peggy is certified in Vocal Music, Speech and Dramatic Arts, Orff Schulwerk and is a vocal judge at district festivals.

In her spare time, Peggy gives private piano lessons, officiates tennis and is Assistant Tennis Coach for Oakville High School. She thanks her friend, Kim, for introducing her to City Voices Chorus, Master Director Jerilee Inghram, and the world of Sweet Adelines!

Growing up in Granite City, Il, Barb was drawn to and connected with music from early childhood. She started piano lessons at age seven, and started singing in church and with her family in grade school. Barb was involved with school music programs all through school. In High School, Barb was a singer and accompanist with the Advanced Girls Glee Club. She was the church pianist in her teens and sang in many church programs while growing up.

Barb also has been involved with church music and has directed many children and adult Christmas and Easter Programs at Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, IL. She is an organist and wedding coordinator at her church. Barb has played and sung for various weddings and funerals thoughout the area.

Barb has been involved with Sweet Adelines for 13 years. Prior to City Voices Chorus, Barb served as the Assistant Director and Interim Director for Gateway Sounds Chorus from Collinsville, IL.
